Project cargo risk management programmes can range in size and complexity and whilst many processes in the preparation, transportation, handling and delivery cycle for any one project can contain many similarities, each project assignment is subject to a unique set of risk circumstances.<\/p>\n

Common fundamental factors such as equipment and people can vary significantly from port to port, ship to ship and day to day. Tight deadlines, a need to manage cost, and variations in shipping schedules and the weather \u2026.and numerous other changeable components can make a significant difference to the risk management interaction with identical shipments, passing through identical ports or facilities in the hands of the same third- party participants. In this edition of Cargo Conversations, Russell Coombs, Andrew Corton and Gino Covello discuss the risk management of project cargo risks, and look at some of the things that can go wrong, how errors and oversights are identified and addressed through the project lifecycle, and what can be done to reduce or avoid repeat occurrences and ultimately improve longer term risk performance.<\/p>\n
